As some of you may know, I have recently started coin collecting. I have yet to really start collecting paper money. However, one of the tellers at a bank I often get half dollars from, was holding a bill for me. So, when I ventured in the bank today, she proceeded to hand me this. I do not know much about bills but it seems in fairly good condition. Possible grade and/or value?

Looks to be around an XF, it does have that one vertical fold which does affect values. It's a $7-10 note on average. Collectors love these United States red seals, it's just an affordable way into the hobby.

She HANDED it to you? For two dollars? Brother, that's a sign. Keep it. Pretty nice example... high VF, low XF. Hard to believe that note made it this long like that. Something tells me Grandma's purse got lightened by a sticky fingered youngin'

Yea! I had come in looking for halves. She only have four loose halves. I gave her a ten and she came back with a 5, a 1 and that bill. She said had been holding it for me. =D

That's a nice lookin' bill for getting it straight from circulation. I love the reverses of those things (really, I like any $2 bill that has a reverse that is something other than old men clamering at each other and signing paperwork).

Yea shocking to know someone had just dropped that off at a bank. On the reverse, I agree completely! The reverse just seems more vibrant and 'alive' then some of today's bills.
