    At best it would be die wear. Die states (arbitrary notations of coin die deterioration while it is in use) can be valuable, but not for Lincoln Cents, except the 1922-D with the mint mark missing.

    One coin I have in mind is the 1811 half cent. It’s a better date that can come with a die break on the left side of the coin. If it covers four of the stars, it’s normal. If it covers only two, it’s a big deal to some collectors.
