1953 Lincoln.. something going on here?

    I took a couple pics of this wheatie tonight, because it looked a little strange under magnification. To me, there's some sort of doubling on that "3". And.. maybe on the "U S T," also?

    I'm not sure, though.. I need to get a higher-powered loupe.

    looks to me like machine doubling

    Deterioration doubling, this is the type of deterioration that created the "poor man's 55"

    This appears like machine doubling to me. Although I will say it is an interesting form of machine doubling as compared to most.
