I found this 1953 while looking through some Lincolns this morning. I noticed that the I in Liberty is doubled or re-punched. the other letters seem to be thicker then normal. I looked in the penny guides , and could not find this particular penny. Please tell me what you see , and if my assumptions are correct. I appreciate and respect your information and opinions. Prior to asking for your help , I always try to locate the penny in one of the many penny sites online . Thank You , Dillan
Thank you for your answer. I was not sure , and with your knowledge in these areas is much better then mine. Appreciated !!
The I looks like it took a hit. Damaged. By the way.. Only Mint Marks are Repunched not the devices such as LIBERTY
Thank You , I get more and more educated each time , and I appreciate and respect your honest answer to my question. I eventually will get more time to read up on issues concerning machine doubling and other areas of concern. Appreciated !
