Has any one ever heard of a Elephant Nose Lincoln Wheat Penny ? I received many coins from my Brothers collection and a 1953 D Lincoln Wheat has Elephant Nose written on the holder. Any information would be greatfully apprecheated . Thank You Kim Elaine
Thre are no regular varieties listed with that description that I have ever seen, perhaps there is a large die chip that extends outward? ??
Some recent quarters show the development a bulbous nose on Washington. It's due to premature die deterioration/deformation. I think some Jefferson nickels show a similar phenomenon.
