1952 Nickel

    Just found this 1952. Nickel in my change it has a lite s mint mark and a lite d mint mark. I haven't seen anything about this type of error before , for the 1952 nickel any thoughts

    Maybe that Nickel was minted at the San Diego Mint ;)

    What you have is simply some weird pattern on your Nickel that looks like a small S and D. A true Overmintmark would look like this. And it would be considered a Variety not an Error -

    Yours is a Philadelphia Minted Nickel with no P.. in 1952 only Denver and San Francisco, D and S were placed on the Reverse.
