1951 Dime Die Crack

    Die crack, right? Found this last week at work, just noticed it today :)

    Took me a bit to see the crack. Its above the e in dime? l

    it is tough to make out -- wouldnt a die crack have the line (crack) raised above the surface of the coin?(where material would have filled in the crack in the die) in the picture it looks as if the line is scratched into the coin...

    I think that it's raised...

    It looks raised above the surface to me...

    The eyes can play tricks on you when looking at coin pics. I've looked at many a pic and would swear that something was incuse when I knew absolutely it was not.

    Yes, it looks like a die crack.

    its a crack.. when you have a die(red) and metal goes in it (blue) then it leaves a slightly raised sliver.

    Yes, it does stick out from the coin. Anybody want to trade?? I'm not into errors as much as I am having a bit of everything :) I keep finding die cracks all the time.... It's fun!
