Finally got around to searching through bags of Wheat Cents that have sat in my desk drawer for years. Didn’t realize that it would take all day, but was a day well spent. These were mostly circulation finds that I’ve been setting aside without thoroughly examining. I did pull several really nice known RPM varieties, including a couple 1953-D 001’s and a 1957-D 003. This 1951-D caught my eye as it has what appears to be a misplaced D behind the 9. The dimensions are about the size of a standard mintmark and it looks too clean to be a cud. I haven’t been able to identify it as a known variety. Has anyone encountered something similar? Any input is welcome and greatly appreciated.

    Definitely not a 9 over a D.
