    I'm thinking it's a very worn teen's or 20's wheat cent, not a strike thru.

    That's plausible Mr Numismatist, but the strongest part of the design, on the reverse, is in the center. "WE" on the obverse also shows much less wear. I wish there was a way to definitively distinguish between the two i.e. strike through or wear for this case.

    Hmm... Looks like a well worn wheat cent with a gaping gash or Post mint damage. :stop::stop::stop:

    Check for VDB in lower left of bust. That’s a definite difference between a teens LWS and one from 1951. VDB added to bust in 1918.

    That could also be a very worn down lamination.
