    If you do, you will have 5 cents more than you did before. I used to save all of the pre-1960 nickels I could find as a kid. I found out that the only ones worth anything in circulated grade were the 1939-D, 1950-D and the War Nickels. So I took them to the bank and spent the rest. I still find them once in a while and marvel at how well they have worn. Look at how long Barber ('V') Nickels circulated for without being pulled out of circulation as anything special.

    1950 is not common. Yours is a little beat up, but I would keep it.

    Old thread I know but it does seem somewhat amazing how undervalued V nickles seem to be. I own a ton of them. All very little value.

    I have a half roll of BU 1950 nickels. Much harder to find than 1950-Ds.
