I have a 195-D Linclon penny. I was wondering if this is an error, or if the coin has been tampered with. I can sort of tell where there is a scratch where the next digit should be. Is it worth anything?

    hellow owenm08, welcome to Cointalk.

Is it possible to post an image of the coin?

Without a picture, (personally) I think what you disctribed sounds more like damage than an error - scratchs where dates should be are sometimes the result of someone trying to alter a coin, or it could just be honest circulation damage over the years.

One common form of damage on Lincolns is for a misadjusted crimping finger on a rolling machine to either scrape off the final digit of the date, or in some cases, especialy for 1's, to push it to one side so that you get a "slanted 1" coin.
