I don't know what it grades. Between the really dark toning and the *giant* fingerprint that covers most of the obverse, this one would be a PASS in my book. Sorry.
That one has a lot going on. I think I like how it toned. We have quite a few like that. Good job on at least capturing where the colors lay, as these are a hard photo.
I wish he hadn't shown the grade so soon. I was going to say MS-66. It's difficult, in my mind to say MS-67 without a full torch, but it's an old holder.
I hate to burst your bubble, I guarantee upon resubmission this coin would be lucky to go 66 but hey why resubmit? right
I'd crack it out and spend it! Or dip it. NGC can have curiously bad taste. Give me a NICELY toned 65 any day. That "toning" could pass for post mint damage or corrosion. What is a fingerprint considered in the grading process? It's impossible to ignore. Are we sure it's not a photoshopped joke?
To be honest, once I saw the grade, I thought the same thing myself. So I verified the numbers on NGC's website, it is legit, the numbers come back to that coin. I am more then stunned myself. http://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/index.aspx?CertNumber=166749-010
I think it's significant that the image is not available. I guess NGC doesn't want anyone to see their handiwork.
