Hello everybody, Was doing some roll searching and came across this guy here and was just curious what everyone thought of it. I have been using Charles D. Daughtrey's "Looking Through Lincoln Cents" book as a reference and this is not in there. I know some people feel if an error or rpm is not in a reference book those errors/rpms do not exist. However, this looks like a rpm to me. http://s804.photobucket.com/albums/yy324/richarrb/1927 peace dollar/ Rob
there have been many rpm's added to the list since Charles last updated the book. Check out his site www.coppercoins.com and use the die variety search function to see if this has been listed since then. Richard
Looks good to me.. Congrats... Looks like an S/S/S .. 1949S-1MM-001 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/dietype.php?date=1949&die_mint=s&die_type=mm&page=0
Thanks Jello. I keep adding to them all the time. There are some I've never posted yet as the subject hasn't come up yet. My favorite for the 1949 year is this one: http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1949D_1MM_001.jpg I picked it up at a local coin show for the price of a BU coin. I just check dealer stock on the AU/BU coins from dealers to see what I can find. There it was.
ff-topic: :thumb:1949-D Nice!! I been hit some yard sales and have picked up a few Book #2 1941=58-PDS 25% are Bu but have not had time to CK them. 1940-58 Wheat are over looked and under valued. but one day they will be treasured.I also hope the Silver Roosevelt Dime MS&PR will become a wanted coin too I also wish I was rich but that may just be a lottery ticket away?????
Boy Coop came up with the match ! I was thinking you might have a "discovery piece", but guess not. That is the kind of find that keeps us all hopeful. Congrats ! gary
It is still a nice find. But you never know when you find something different till you check it out. Best place/ least expensive place is to post on forums. You get an answer that won't cost you anything. Always wait for many to comment on a subject. The answer will be there if you wait long enough.
