1949 S cent with thin 9

The 9's for this year are nearly identical but the second 9 on this coin is noticeably thinner. I'd be interested to get peoples thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.

Common for the year. That's how the "9" is.

 

Probably weakness of the strike, notice that Lincolns jacket isn't very well defined either.

 

Looks like the strike was weak so it possible had a little grease on the die in that area.
