Hello there! A friend of mine asked if I could find how much a 1949 Cyprus Half Piastre was worth. Here is a picture of one. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn52/crazyjarhead1/015-24.jpg Thanks in advance for any help!
Mintage on this was nearly two million. The problem is that it was apparently never withdrawn and melted like many moderns so most still exist. It circulated only six years before a new currency system was introduced so nice examples are not difficult. Even in Unc this coin isn't too hard and is worth $5. In typical condition like this it's just poundage; figure about $4 per pound. (a couple cents)
