What would this be worth to you? I have a number of these coins and am going to try to sell them to a dealer this weekend at the coin show in Upstate NY but I want to make sure I get a reasonable offer. These coins are probably MS 62+. Thanks a lot! Hopefully the scans help you grade too! My scanner doesnt pick up on luster though, but I assure you its there!

I don't agree. Among other things, if the wing feathers aren't worn, the strike is far too weak for that grade IMHO.

The '48-S was weakly struck to begin with - so that is not what limits the grade. But it does appear to me that the coins does have some wear. I would say AU50 - 55. You might be able to sell it for $2 - $5 if you are lucky.

You need to understand that even a highly graded example such as this one which is NGC MS66 only brings about $30.

Thanks for the replies. It actually graded from someone more skilled than myself at MS 61. I let them go for dealer bid at I think it was $4 per coin. Wasn't looking to make money on them, just fill the hole in my pocket. The same dealer who offered a fair price on them, tried offering me 50 cents a piece for BU War Nickels mostly 44S 55P and D. Lucky enough I am young and not stupid! I traded them off to another dealer a gentlemen I know recommended. He offered $3 a piece, much more reasonable since I had been selling them singly at $4 a piece for some time! Thanks again for the replies!
