    Does anyone know if the 1948 Red Book has a 1948 Walking Liberty Half Dollar listing error? Since the book was published in 1947 did they make a mistake and put in a 1948 Walking Liberty Half Dollar as a mistake in the price guide?

    Yes the 1948 dated Red Book showed listings for the P, D, and S mints. The 1949 edition did not.

    Clearly the 1948 dated turned out to be in error. Without knowing the precise 1948 edition deadline date and the Franklin half authorization date it is possible that the information just wasn’t available in time.
