Anytime you want to know the value of a coin and what it is selling for search it in ebay. Then go to completed listings. Tells what things have sold for last 60 days or so.

 

Or he could call the local B&Ms and ask what their buy price is.

 

Yes, it would have no numismatic premium due to its condition.
