So I recently got a 1947 Wheat Penny and it looks like it was an error. It has a very small amount of copper on it mainly on the rim on the coin and the outside edge. I tried to look it up on Google and didn't find anything. Can anyone tell me what it is and possibly the value?

Sorry to say, but the 47 is plated and not an error.

    Correct. Not Steel. Plated.

1947 Wheat Cents are copper. Your is plated by someone with too much spare time. The copper under the plating is starting to wear off. That's why you see copper.

Looks like it was in a bezel and then plated and the bezel has since been removed. Hence the rim and edge being copper.
