1947 wheat issue

    IMG_1734.JPG IMG_1735.JPG Does anyone know what's going on with this wheat cent? If it's 95% copper why does it look like it's peeling? Thanks

    Looks like it was plated at one time. The plating has peeled off. Still some more to go!

    Plated. If you look at the back of the head you can see that one piece clearly covering the head details, and separating off of the surface.
