Hello All, I found this coin of 1947 5 Centavos Argentina and saw a strange 1947 inverted under the letters ICA of the Republic and A of Argentina. But the date of 1947 on the obverse is reached between the letters A of the Republic and R of Argentina. I searched many sites and found no other currency like this. Could this coin be a single specimen with that mistake?
I would start with researching to see if these coins were overstruck on a pervious coin. I don't if that was the case. But possibly a good strart.
Good Idea, because It seems to have a little more things I couldn't identify around the 1947 inverted number.
I don't see evidence on the Obverse side of it being overstruck on another coin so most likely a clash. If a clash then there are more like it.
Thanks for the correction Y'all. I didn't even think of a clash. I guess because I would expect for how defined it is, that there would be more evidence.
Yes and no. World error coins are not as sought after as US error coins. Also, clashes on coins usually means many were made, because its highly unlikely the dies struck each other right be fore the very last coin. In essence, no one who knows much about error coins is going to believe that only one was struck. Now, when it’s the only one known, that helps. Personally, I think it’s cool, but not likely going to fetch you much of a premium. @paddyman98 and/or @spirityoda would know better than I would.
I think that it is a interesting Clash but I wouldn't consider it anything major.. My Argentina off center is probably worth more than this clash which would be about $20.00
Thanks, Thanks, Thank you all. I am proud to participate this discussion and all others. I've learned ever more in every discussion I have participated and feel honored to receive all these lessons from experts as you all.
No. When that happens, just take a deep breath and use common sense. It's enough for the minds to calm down. Remember, you are "The Guy".
