    I have 2 different "S" mint-marked 1946 S Jefferson Nickels

Coin #1 is an S that is a SERIF and coin #2 is a SANS-SERIF

*First 2 pics are the Serif nickel , and the last three are the Sans-Serif Coin*

Is this normal, in that the US Mint used both styles for that year, or is one more scarce than the other?

    Thanks,

    Chuck.

I checked my finds from circulation, the result: 6 with serifs, 0 without

According to the things I looked at both of these are quite common. These are also the ONLY two types of MM that were used on nickel dies in the year 46.
