1946 S/D?

    Does this look like an S/D stage B? It seems like there is a faint "D" in the correct place.

    I'm not seeing it. Maybe others can.
    I think sometimes we, collectors, try a bit too hard to see what we want, when it just isn't there.

    Here are the two points that I saw. Due to whatever gunk or patina is in there, it does make it hard to see. But I notices a raised vertical line coming out of the trumpet tail and a curved line just above the center of the S.

    Looks like a normal S with gunk inside of it :meh:

    A lot of S mint marks have small die chips, cracks joining the two curves of the S.

    Looking again this morning your MM has the wrong placement. The S/D is under the 4 Yours is half under the 4.

    I agree with the others here: placement is off and the review of the MDS/LDS diagnostics on Coppercoins aren't there (about the date).
