I saw this while browsing coins and thought it looked like a good coin at at good price. I thought about bidding but thought too long and got distracted while it closed. Did I miss a good one at a good price? Thanks for any thoughts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1946-Walkin...Po0KLDAkfMroAyUhJ3i0g%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Rob
I see really good photos, a pretty nice coin and an average price. The coin looks like a slider on my tablet screen, but the photos make it look nice. You can get the same quality coin for less with some searching.
Ok... Thanks. Does it rate "BU" as stated be the seller? If so, I assume low MS. I see what looks like decent luster, good hand detail and full chest feathers. Thanks for helping me to improve me photo grading.
It's BU alright, but the wear I'm seeing is on the raised part of Lady Liberty from her head to knee. Also a few light scuffs between "In God" and the rays of the sun. What worries me are the things we can't see. With the blast of light that highlights the coins luster, faint hairline scratches can disappear.
This coin is a perfect example of you need to see it in hand to properly assess its merits. In my opinion it is not a slider but would grab an MS designation if submitted but, it would not be worth the grading fee to do so.
This one looks nice ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1946-Walkin...19?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item43cbcedf87
