1945 weird mint mark... ?

    Hey there everybody, any ideas on what's going on here? This ones a new one for me. It almost seems like it was an s, and that somebody decided they didn't want it on there, but, the ring around the indention is pretty neat, possibly machine damage?

    Looks like someone used punch to take out the mintmark.

    Post mint damage. Doesn't look like there was a mintmark, but let's just say that if there was, it's gone now.

    You don't know what you're talking about. It looks like a 1945 O/CC to me.

    LOL - when the heck do I?? Yes - with those wonderful clear pictures I can definitely see parts of CC in and around the O!!
