I just got this one back from PCGs. This Washington has some very lovely colors.... That are hard to capture, this one needs to be seen in person..

    Here is the Obverse:

This one has very strong Luster underneath this pretty toning. Notice the pretty color along the date and the rims of this coin. In Washingtons you want to pay particular attention to the Motto, In God We Trust.... This one The I and N of In are somewhat flat, on coins that make a seven holder (usually, I'm sure there are exceptions) This should be sharply struck with nice relief and raised letters......

    Now for the Reverse:

This one has some pretty rim toning with some nice bright blues. Also strong luster which is a plus. However, it is somwhat of a soft strike, softness can be seen in the lettering of dollar and even in the wingtips of the Eagle, I am not calling it a soft strike, but I am also not calling it sharply struck, rather it is a decent strike for a mid 40's S mint Washington....

PCGs gave me a ms66 on it, as I had expected. This is yet another coin I bought raw and picked up very cheap.. And can bring a decent gain from the Washington collector whom desires nice toned specimens...

Wow...that's beautiful. You people are probably the only ones who won't think I'm crazy for spending $100 for a quarter.

    Hey Rolltide,

I spent 24,420 on two Lincolns this week. So $10 for a Wahsington is pretty good

Hey Queenie, do you buy them that way, or do you "album tone them"? I have a 45-S Wash that has been sitting in a Whitman Classic album since 1979. The rims have toned into the letters, but the center is still brilliant. Really a nice coin, but not as dazzling as yours. Guess I'll have to wait another 24 years before it tones in the center.
