It looks like a die break, but it doesn't look like any I've ever seen before. Huh. I like the "Erudite Jefferson" look. (granted, as a four-eyes myself, I think most people look better with glasses )
I will try to get a better picture but the dark spot about where his ear would be looks a little like a strike through...
You have good light on the coin, but try to just get it a little better in focus. If your camera has a "macro" mode, this might help.
Yea I just have a phone camera. So weird this first pic looks like raised metal but the second from a different angle and in hand doesnt look like a die break.... Pareidolia effect?
The second picture in this post actually makes it look a whole lot like an improper alloy mix. This can be called "planchet streaking", or, when it is really bad, may lead to a lamination. I don't think this is quite a lamination, but I'm leaning more towards a planchet defect based on that picture.
