1945 Lincoln Cent

  1. I would appreciate comments about grading for this coin? I am learning and will appreciate your input. Thank you. I hope the pictures are adequate. Thank you.

    The photos are a little dark to tell the wear, but high VF to EF(XF) in my opinion Jim

    I would say VF but it wouldn't matter as it's a very common date.

    I didn’t think it was mint state because there is no luster, but there is such a thing as Mint State-BN, right?

    Yes there is MS BN (brown), MS RB (red brown), and MS Red.

    I know 1950D is not extraordinary cent, but am wondering about the crack on the reverse. Thank you for review.

    Hi Christina... From my perspective, that appears to be a scratch into the surface of the old cent. Copper is a very soft metal and is quite easily damaged. If you are looking for something like a die crack on your coins, that would be a raised area on the coin.

    It appears to be a scratch. PMD, post mint damage.
     
  12. Thank you. Under the microscope , the crack is indented with 2 scratches and in between it is depressed.And, the coin isn’t in great shape either.
