So from my research they made wartime nickels from 1942-1945 so I think that it might be a fake or just really dirty not sure what's your guess?

Looks like an odd color for a silver nickel. It may be an error. You would need to do an XRF scan to know for sure.

Meow thinks Meow read an article in the past about someone making counterfeit silver nickels. Could this be the affected date? Or is Meow mistaken about that story?

The excess blue comes from using auto-balance and the presence of the red wood tones.

My guess is the "error" is getting consumed by looking for errors.

They are known as Henning nickles. The 1944 is missing the mintmark.

I don't know which one is which, but there's a big difference in the thickness of the nickles. Are Hennings thicker or thinner than regular nickles?

That nickel is 100% a silver war nickel that has had the high points lightly buffed/cleaned. Has same line patterns on the jacket and should have for that degree of wear for war nickels, which are pretty distinct. Nothing to suggest otherwise. Not an error at all.

It looks cleaned. The war nickels have a variety of patinas.
The odds are so much higher than it is just a worn silver nickel
than any kind of anomaly. What does it weigh?

They weigh the same as the non silver ones unless you're thinking like a foreign planchet or something
