1944d ddo

i bought 10 rolls of lwc off ebay a while back and this is the fourth doubled die i have found.

If the other three look like this, then I think you should keep looking.

No doubled die here , just a beat up coin with the letters flattened down from being in use for many years.

 

win some lose some. it sure looks like 001 to me.

 

It is beat up, but it is a class 6 DDO. It isn't 001. The placement of the MM is wrong. It would be hard to match up. I'm sure the markers are destroyed. The only way would be doing overlays for MM placement.

 

If I had to guess, I would say 002. I don't have an overlay program on my iPhone. It's just based on side by sides. Sorry about the condition though.

I agree that it is a class VI DDO.

 

I just found either a 1940 or 1941 DDO (ill confirm when I get home) that has the same doubling on the 9. And the fact that there is doubling on the lower left hand side of LIBERTY, confirms it too. No way flattening from circulation could have done that.

 

To me, its looks like either the 1do-007 or 1do-011

 

Im going with the 1do-011

 

i will look more closely at it and compair to see if i can find out which one it is.
