1944 wheat error

    Hey guys....started searching thirty years of wheat collection and came across this ....the "I" is shoved over to the b in liberty. Has anyone seen this before. Worn die? Thx in advance.

    Do you see the shadowy impression of where the letter was, just to the left? It got shoved over. It's a machine casualty, a counting or rolling machine.

    Damage. Copper is soft. The metal of the "I" was pushed towards the "B".

    It took a hit. Copper is soft and things like the crimper from an automated coin roller can really move stuff arounf

    Is it common? What would it be classified as? A odd strike?

    It's considered post mint damage which means it happened after it left the mint.

    Damage. It got bumped going through the machine.

    You can clearly see where the I used to be. Copper is soft and the I was struck hard enough to move it from left to right. It's considered damaged and knlh worth one cent. A common occurrence.
