    That is a clear case of PMD caused by a 1/4" drill bit!

    This could be an instance where someone used it as a buffer.

    For instance, if you drill a piece of wood and you place it on the concrete floor you don't want the drill bit to bit the concrete. So you grab a coin in your pocket and put it under where the bit would hit and drill into the coin instead as you can feel the different drag and stop.
