Runs the full width of the coin, from between the "AT" in "States" to the base of the second 4. There is also another crack, not visible in the picture, that runs from the rim below the first 4 to the far right end of the scroll. I couldn't find much info on die errors for this coin, can anyone enlighten me?
The 1944-S is a very common coin with over 14,000,000 minted, with that many coins struck and on such hard metal, die cracks will be common as well. I don't know if I have one like that or not, but it is a neat die crack. I wouldn't put any premium on the coin because of it though.
