1944 Reithspfennig

    I found a 1944, 5 Reithspfennig. Eagle w/Swastika amd the letter E on it. I belive it is zink. Would like to know the worth of the coin if anyone knows please.

    Your 1944E 5 Reichspfennig (KM#100) was minted at Muldenhutten along with 19,719,999 others. It is, indeed, zinc and valued from 50¢ to $15 depending on grade. Unless it is a most unusual example, it would grade at Fine or below, like the vast majority of zinc coinage, which deteriorates very rapidly in circulation. Berlin ("A"), Munich ("D"), Stuttagart ("F") and Karlsruhe ("G") mints turned out a total of about 61-million more in 1944, but none were minted at Vienna ("B") or Hamburg ("J").
