    Can anyone confirm this as a Doubled Die on the ear?

    It looks like it follows up the rest of the ear. You might be onto something.

    Rock, I don't think so. I am also curious about the different color of it that doesn't continue along ( almost as if the bottom part is a separate piece or different metal part of the planchet. And of course the coin Gods put it right where it would cause confusion.

    I lean more toward a die chip that wore as the coin circulated. As mentioned before...Oy what a spot for it to be.

    It seems the photo enlarger thingy isn't working so the photo's are more difficult to see. The coin has little wear so a worn die chip is hard to imagine. Still thinking doubled.
    I tryed the enlarger and it works.
