1944 clipped penny with possible die crack

    This 1944 (no mint mark) penny is clipped but also appears to have a die crack/break on left side of face. Just not sure if it is a break vs crack or a gouge - I would appreciate your thoughts as well as how this combo would increase value assuming it is a break/crack

    It's an Incomplete Planchet.
    And the issue you see on the field is called a Lamination crack. Planchet issue. Also Laminations are common on Wheat Cents.
    Not a die crack. That would be a die issue. Two totally separate things.

    I'm not sure if it is a clip or not. I don't really see a Blakesley effect on the coin. Hard to tell from the pics, because the Obv side had the lamination problem right where the Blakesley would be. The Rev is questionable. The OBV has some strange wear or damage acoss Abe's face ... shop tool marks?

    The smaller the incomplete issue the less of a Blakesly Effect it would have.

    I think the BE is noticeable on the reverse. The rim lip is a bit shallow in that area.
    Marks on face could be from roll crimping machine.
