Also some weird ridge like pattern on Lincoln's back, same pattern on top of GOD. Reverse also has what looks like die polishing lines.

Here I see doubling on the back of the 9 and also a 3 betweent the 4 and the 3 and then some doubling on the right side of the 3 Screen Shot 2018-05-23 at 12.22.10 AM.png

I believe all your seeing is die deterioration of course I have been wrong before I have 2 or 3 look exactly like that. JMO

Do you mind posting a pic of the dates of the ones you have? I'm curious to see if it's a pattern. Thanks

Thanks but technically it is, just not the elusive doubled die.

I wouldn't mind but there in my junk worthless cents and there literally thousands of them so if you don't mind I think I will leave them where there at. LOL

...looks like plating doubling to me

I just thought it would be odd to have exactly the same pattern with the 3 between the 4 and the 3 but no worries.

Had to research plating doubling and found "split plating doubling" from error-ref.com...is this what you meant? The site said the split plating is restricted to zinc coins.

I'm wondering how the that middle 3 got there...anyway, thanks for the comment.

The coating on the 1943 cent is zinc over steel, where as the zinc/lincolns are copper over zinc. My first thought was die deterioration, but the effect is mainly on the date rather than the whole coin, So I would think a worn die with a plating defect also, But not a doubled die. Jim

No, I wasn't referencing the thin plating
on the planchets done at the Mint.

I was referring to the commercial plating
done over the past decades to make them
shiny for retail sales, and to prevent rust.

If memory serves me if you go back and check some of the old threads you will probably find one or two like yours. JMO
