1943D well-worn silver war nickel

    well found this is change some years ago, 1943 is the date my mom was born in and that is why one reason I've kept it and also a silver find is the other reason

    it's seen much use but like I said it's a keeper for the above reasons
    and not very often I find silver much less older coins in change

    I too hold on to not coins but currency from 1934, when my Dad was born . It's a sentimental thing .

    yeah some people keep coins that have sentimental value given either as a gift or a reminder of a loved one who has passed on

    @Silverpop Just thought you might like to see this. It's a 1943-P War Nickel. Not sure if you were aware of it but notice the 3. The bottom of it has a raised extra piece of metal. This is the 3 over 2 variety. Some are weaker but this is a strong one. They are not expensive unless you get into the higher grades.

    Check over at varietyvists.com they do have a complete Jefferson war nickel varieties The 1943 P Jefferson there are over 50 varieties alone....from doubled dies, rpd, rpm's, as well other odd varieties. At one time they allowed you to down load the complete variety guide for war nickels.
