1943 Steel Penny ...Double Die on 4?

    Looks like DDD (Die deterioration doubling). As always, wait for more opinions by more experienced members.

    With 1943 cents, you have to know that in the 50-60+, many of these were reprocessed with the zinc plating and since the customers had to provide their own cent coin, many were not cleaned well before the plating, thus all sorts of odd bumps and crud appeared that were plated over. The main way to tell is by the edges. If the edges are same color as surface, it likely a reprocessed.
