I have found a 1943 steel cent that looks as if the 4 in the date is lightly struck. The 4 looks as if it is worn while the 1,9, and 3 show no apperent wear. Also the coin as a whole is in fairly good shape, with no rust. The coin was minted in Sanfrancisco. Is this a common error? If so, what would be the value of such coin?

    Welcome to the forum :D

There have been several posts regarding light or missing 4's on 1943 S cents. I don't recall that it added much, if any premium, but I'll wait for others to chime in.

    Hi,
It is not that unusual. It doesn't add anything to what the coin is worth.
    Have Fun,
    Bill
