My friend and I have found a 1943 steel cent piece with a S on the back that is at a angle underneath the AM in AMERICA. Anyone know what I have? Or how much value to give this coin?

    Dropped letter error?

    A pic. would help.

Also, could be a post mint addition if it's indented.

IMHO the only explanation for what you have is that someone scratched/engraved/punched the "S" into the coin some time after it left the mint.

Your coin is certainly worth face value in any place of business, but I think that your three chances of getting a premium are "slim", "fat" and "no". Sorry.

    Welcome to the forum Snyder.

I believe it to be post mint graffiti.

A picture, if you can, would be helpful.
