I just received my order from provident metals and i found this mixed in with my 90% junk silver.

It looks as though it was partly plated in gold on the front and the back was fully plated. Whether it is actually gold or not, I have no idea. It also seems to have been put through a tumbler since it is ridiculously shiny.

How often do people put a goldish coating on coins? Do you think it is fake?

Sorry for the poor pictures, my camera doesn't want to cooperate:(

It's a real WLH. They usually polish the coin before they plate it, so that explains why it's so shiny. It's probably real gold plating, but it's such a small amount there's no real price. It's not to uncommon to find plated and colored coins in the junk silver bags.

Here is my guess. That coin was used as a money clip at one time.

The reverse of my money clips are completely gilded while only the devices of the obverse are gilt. I will assume that the polishing took place after the coin was removed from the money clip.

Raider: Thanks for the info! I tried to search online but couldn't find much info so I thought this would be a good place to start. Im probably gonna take it to a local coin shop on monday and see what they think it is worth.

LeHigh96: It is different than that because whoever plated this coin did a really shotty job. If I could figure out how to take a good picture, it would be a lot clearer. On the front, the gold is pretty much just blobbed on and doesn't follow the contours of the design. Its like a child trying to color in a coloring book...all over the place.
