    No. You see that a lot. That came from the striking of the coin by a normal die. These things are struck like machine gun fire. It's called, "strike doubling." The coin took a bad hop or a twist or a skip when it was struck.

    Machine doubled. Very common on steel cents because the steel is much harder than copper they used more pressure on the dies
