    People plate 1943 cents with copper all the time to resemble the rare 1943 copper (bronze) cents. That's easily distinguished with a magnet.

    Does it stick to a magnet? There you go. It's a '43 steelie wearing a false coat.

    Even if it doesn't stick to a magnet, then there's the high probability that it is a Chinese fake, as mentioned.

    To me it looks like a real '43 steel that got plated. I'm betting it sticks to a magnet.
