Alright all you Lincoln people I'm looking for your help again. My buddy has this 1943 steel cent and looking at the date we see "something".What are we looking at is the question. The Cherrypickers guide shows doubling on the 9 but that's it.I see it on the 943. I can't find anything on it though. I took the pics through a loop at different angles and with different lighting to try and show it. Any ideas? Seen it before ? He wants to know if it's a "dinner winner " lol. He's down here in FL visiting from OH. I told him if we could find an answer that it would be at CT. Thanks, John

Can't tell for sure from the pics but it could be MDD, or die erosion doubling, or even plating break "doubling". But in any case it has no premium value.

I agree machine doubling, but some people like even machine doubled coins, It might get a buck or two,, but be honest and indicate machine doubling. It is pretty extreme MD.
