1943 Half Penny die cracks ddo possible

    Ok just picked up so old coins of Britain i think . Anywsys there are multiple die cracks plus if you look between the words Half & Penny you can see a second P.
    Thanks please let me know what you all think

    I'm going to say this coin was from a well used die that was on the edge of catastrophic failure, with all of the die cracks. They got their money worth out of that one! What looks like an extra P is probably a die gouge that looks as such. Hard to tell in pic if the P is in relief or incused. But none the less its probably PMD. JMO

    Thanks ya not sure on the P . It seems relief . See if i can get a better pic

    War time made coins will show more defects due to there extended Die use.
    The Second "P" may have come from what is called dropped element. Which I think is basically the "P" got full of Debris (mix of grease, dirt, metal), And that debris finally fell out, was struck by die, die was damaged, each coin after that showed the damage on the die.
