1943 d steel cent

    there seems to be some doubling in this 1943 d steel cent I have. Its probably double striking or mds. I am still very new to all of this. I have 2 pics. The doubling starts at the bottom of lincoln's lip and then continues down to the bottom of the bow tie. It also goes from the top of his forehead and all the way around to the initials VDB then stops. The 2 pics I have posted aren't all that good but does show what I am talking about. Please see the pics and let me know what you think. I'm a noob at all this so not sure what to think of it....

    From what I can see in picture #1, it is strike doubling, there is a doubled die on the 1943 but I think that it is on the date, and it may be the Philly.

    Apparently there are several types of doubles in 1943. According to the coppercoins book on page 152, 153 there are doubles in the date areas is common. Other types including RPM's are also mentioned. You can find out more concerning the 1943 Cent at coppercoins.com
