1943 D penny

    Looks like doubling on 4,3 and the D to me. Is this an error of any kind? or just machine doubling? Going to Portland coinshow tomorrow, im excited :smile:smile[​IMG]

    hard to tell from pic, but my best guess would be mechanical doubling. You should bring it with you to the show and get some opinions.

    What you have is die deterioration doubling

    I agree die deterioration about 50% of the steel cents look like yours.

    Many steel cents have this type of doubling

    Many steel cents have this type of doubling unfortunately it's not a die variety but keep looking!
