Hello folks, While searching out a 42/1 merc, i ran across this and thought id take a flyer on it for a whopping $1.25..... Basically the entire obverse is doubled, most notably IN, WE, L,I and the 4&2.... Thoughts??????
Also, according to the coneca page, this isnt a known doubled die.. There are 2, the infamous 42/41(ddo-001)and the other(ddo-002) just notes the Y in Liberty being doubled..... Well, what say you???
Ooohi think ill notate that on the holder! Along with oscillated doubling-strike doubling-die deteriotation doubling-and mechanical doubling.. Write multiple error/variety coin Put it on the bay::- L@@K!-::MUST SEE!!!!!!!! MUST HAVE!!!;-_-;MUST BUY!!! %##@##%
1 other thing, i dont recall ever seeing an example of MD with a tripled serif! Look closely at the bottom serif of the E of we. No i wouldnt refer to it as a "split" serif, but i can think of a few coins that were attributed as doubled dies that didnt necesarilly have "split serifs". Just a thought... Thanks for everyones Red Unc 2 cent piece
