It's better if you take a picture out of the 2x2. Have you ever sent a coin for grading before? Why do you want to send it? It's fine just as you have it stored. A slab doesn't make it more valuable.
The cost of your grading fees will be higher than the value of the coin itself. It’s a very common date.
Nice coin. As said very common but better than mine. Save or sell it as is. If you want a nice, graded example, it’s probably best to buy one already in plastic.
If you use ICG and note that you are a member here , you can get a discount. And even without a discount, The grading is as good as any of the more expensive graders. I would guess around $10 over the silver value myself once graded.
It looks to be in gem but it's hard to get a good read on the liveliness of the surface in that flip, it looks flat in that flip. PCGS calls it a $100-150 coin if it grades near or at gem.
I have been hunting for raw Walking Liberty Half Dollars to make a short set (1941 to 1947). The retail prices range from about $35 to $150 for some San Francisco mint marked dates (e.g. 1941-S). As the others have said, the value of the coin does not warrant getting it graded. Here is a Proof, which is a limited edition, specially made 1942 half dollar. These are worth the grading fees.
